Guitar & Vocals Done!!

Just thought that I would give a little update in regards to what is going on with the album.

I know that there has been a lot of inactivity, and I apologize for that, but to be honest with you, I had to move all my gear from Uni back to my bedroom and quite recently I have been trying, however unsuccessfully to find a job, and I've had to prioritize this over my E.P recording.

However, right not I am sitting in my room with a smile on my face, this is because last night I had a burst of creativity and finally got round to recording the guitar and vocal parts of the album in about half an hour and I'm now in the process of thinking about where I want to go from here.

Samuel Higgins is producing the rest of the E.P and trust me when I say that he will do an excellent job on it. He has really helped me get things off the ground, we wrote Pill'Ed together and it's brilliant to have him on board. He is also going to be joining us for live performances as a drummer.

Speaking of live performances, that is what I am thinking about next. Instead of diving straight into the deep end like I did with The Business Trip, I really want us to be well rehearsed before we hit the live performance zone. Next year I will be working harder than ever in terms of Uni work and getting things off the ground with this, I aim for the be playing at at least three festivals next summer and we'll hopefully be gigging all over the place and I am incredibly excited about getting everything going next year. I have decided to rename this E.P The White E.P, to parody The Beatles.

When the E.P is released (Which will hopefully be by the end of this week) I aim to send it to BBC 6 Music as soon as it is finished, and other important places. Watch this space...

Writing, Writing, Writing

So all day yesterday I was finishing writing songs for the new E.P which I have decided to call 'Organized Chaos'. Well, you may be wandering why I have decided to call the E.P this name so I will tell you now.

Organized Chaos is named after I booked the band to play a gig at The Dublin Castle and realized as soon as we did the first rehearsal for the show that we were no where near ready to perform and I predict that this level of Organized Chaos will be kept throughout my career with this band. I'm saying this with a smile on my face, because to be honest with you, I'd rather have a band that was absolutely shambolic and ridiculous then just a normal bunch of guys who got together and rehearsed shit perfectly.

Let's face it, nobody is perfect, but unfortunately, music fans and record companies today strive for perfection. Perfect looks, perfect image, perfect talent and whatever else springs to mind. If there's something not right about a band, then they WILL pick at it and that band will have to suffer the consequences of being dropped from that label.

I hope, that Haydn & The Normals will turn out to be big fuck you to the 'everything has to be perfect' mentality, because, as I said before, nobody's perfect really. Well, are they?

Although the date is not set in stone, I aim to have the E.P released by next week.
